1" Mosasaurus Teeth

The Mosasaurus grew up to 50 feet long! They had a barrel-shaped ending in a strong tail. They had an elongated double hinged jaw allowing it to open to almost 180 degress. This allowed them to swallow prey almost whole like moderd day crocodiles. Because of this behavior, several specimens of unchewed prey have been discovered along with some fossil remains. They had modified into flippers to swim and came to the surface to breathe. Their diet included large fish, sharks, turtles, ammonites and squid. Additionally, the larger mosasaurs would also feed upon the smaller ones.
