Great representation of a Megalodon (Carcharocles megalodon) tooth. The name Megalodon meaning "big tooth", is an extinct species of shark that grew to over 60' long! The jaws were over 6 foot tall containing about 275 teeth at any given time. They frequently ate whales and other large sea creatures to fill their large appetite. The biggest tooth ever found was 7.48" with teeth 5" and larger being very rare. This 4.5" tooth features great enamel and sharp serrations. Teeth from this location are harder to come by and are trademarked by their lighter array of colors.It is a great representation of the species and their size. It's estimated to have come from a 45 foot shark.
